Introduction

Family Corner is operated by Quorini, Inc. (“Quorini”, “we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Family Corner website and applications (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

Family Corner is a voice-first biography service: an AI interviewer guides members of your family through spoken conversations, and those recordings become written, narrated, and illustrated stories shared within your family.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address and, if you purchase a plan or a gift, billing details processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).

Voice recordings: the audio you record during interview sessions, along with transcripts produced from them.

Photos and other media you choose to upload to illustrate your family's stories.

Family content: names, relationships, life events, and other details that emerge in your conversations and stories.

Usage data: basic technical information such as device type, browser, and how you interact with the Service, used to keep it running and improve it.

How we use your information

To provide the Service: conducting AI-guided interviews, transcribing recordings, generating written and narrated stories and illustrations, and organizing them into your family biography.

To operate, maintain, and improve the Service, and to communicate with you about your account.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your recordings, photos, or stories for advertising.

AI processing

Your recordings and the content derived from them are processed by AI models (for speech transcription, story writing, narration, and illustration) to deliver the Service. Processing happens on infrastructure we control or that is provided by our subprocessors under contract.

We do not use your family's private content to train general-purpose AI models.

Storage and security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Recordings, transcripts, and stories are stored with per-account isolation so that only your family and the people you invite can access them.

No system is perfectly secure, but protecting your family's memories is central to what we do; if a security incident affects your data, we will notify you as required by law.

Sharing

Within your family space: content is shared only with the family members you approve. Stories about living family members are shared according to the consent settings chosen by your family.

With service providers: we use a small number of subprocessors (such as cloud hosting and AI infrastructure providers, currently including Amazon Web Services) that process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.

For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Your rights and choices

Access and export: you can request a copy of your family's data, including recordings and stories, in a portable format.

Deletion: you can delete individual recordings at any time; deleting a recording also removes the transcripts and derived content cascaded from it. You can delete your entire account and all associated data by contacting us.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to correct, restrict, or object to processing. We honor these rights for all users regardless of location. To exercise any of them, email hello@family-corner.com.

Data retention

We keep your recordings and stories for as long as your account is active, so your family biography remains available to you. Content you delete is removed from active systems promptly and from backups within a reasonable period.

Children

The Service is designed for adults recording their own life stories. Children may appear in family stories and photos, but accounts must be created and managed by an adult. We do not knowingly collect accounts from children under 13.

International transfers

We process and store data in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

Changes to this policy

If we change this Privacy Policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above. For significant changes, we will notify you by email.
